The Android game console Ouya was a succesful Kickstarter project and raised more than $8 million. But sadly it’s expectations were too high as it wasn’t sold that well.
It took a while before the first consoles were sold, so the hardware was quite outdated when it came to the market. Ouya also had problems with its game selection, because there were only a few notable exclusive games for the Ouya.
Ouya was reported to have been looking for a buyout as far back as April this year. And now game accessories manufacturer Razer has acquired Ouya, according to the acquisition management firm Mesa Global. It seems Razer wants Ouya, because of its patents and back-end technology.
