Cyanogen

Cyanogen is best known from its popular CyanogenMod Android based firmware images for mobile devices. These firmware images are very popular by users who want to replace (bulky) pre-installed Android installs by the light-weight & (most of the time) up-to-date CyanogenMod firmware images. Especially for consumers who have outdated mobile devices, CyanogenMod revives these devices with a more up-to-date Android version & extra handy features, which are available in these firmware images.

New strategic investors are Qualcomm Incorporated, Twitter Ventures, Rupert Murdoch, Telefónica Ventures, Smartfren Telecom, Index Ventures, Access Industries (the US-based industrial group headed by Len Blavatnik), Vivi Nevo, and several yet to be announced partners. Existing investors Tencent Holdings Ltd, Benchmark, Andreessen Horowitz & Redpoint Ventures, also participated. To date, Cyanogen has received a total of $110 million in funding.
