Next version of Android will feature native fingerprint authentication

The next version of Android (code-name Android M) will include one-touch log-in for supported apps.

Although several Android smartphones features fingerprint scanners, like the Samsung Galaxy S5/6 which let you do things like authorize mobile payments, or unlock your smartphone instead using passwords, it is not built into (stock) Android yet. But this will change soon…

According to BuzzFeed News it will be baked into the next version of Android. BuzzFeed News states Google will announce the feature next week during the Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco.

The new functionality will allow users to log in to all of the supported applications on their Android devices without entering a password.
