Vuurmuur 0.8 bèta 2 is released. Vuurmuur (Dutch for Firewall) is a powerful Firewall Manager built on top of the Linux Iptables.

Vuurmuur has a simple & easy to learn configuration that allows both simple & complex configurations. The configuration can be fully configured through an Ncurses GUI, which allows secure remote administration through SSH, or on the console.

Vuurmuur supports traffic shaping, has powerful monitoring features, which allow the administrator to look at the logs, connections & bandwidth usage in realtime.

Release notes

  • Add an option to not drop invalid packets. Closes #100.
  • Update default samba service. Closes #103.
  • Patch by Matthijs Kooijman to make permission handling of Vuurmuur config files configurable. Closes #88.
  • Move over connection killing to use libvuurmuur_exec_command. Fixes #98. Add audit logging to killed connections as well. Fixes #97.
