Endless Computers, a new Kickstarter project quickly surpassed its $100.000 USD goal in just a week(!) Endless Computers wants to deliver a $169 USD Linux PC, mainly targeted at Linux developers.

The Endless Computer is a low-end PC powered by an x86-compatible Intel Celeron N2807 mobile CPU. Pre-installed is Endless OS, a customized Linux-based OS based on the GNOME 3.x user interface. Initially Endless Computers wanted to use Android, but because of its limitations they’ve decided to develop their own Endless OS.

The Endless computer systems will be pre-loaded with some common Linux applications & will be optimized for use with or without an Internet connection. So these systems will also be attractive for developing countries, where internet connections aren’t always available, or affordable.
