Amahi version 4.2 is released. Amahi Linux Home Server is a server targeted for home and home office environments.

According to the developers the focus of the Amahi server is to create a home server with usability, cross-platform compatibility and ease of use in mind.

It is meant to help the “designated IT guy in the home” run the digital home better, for the benefit of the rest of the users of the network.


Every Amahi HDA provides all the things you would want in a home server and more:

  • Calendaring
  • Wiki
  • Shared network storage
  • Network Backups
  • Printer server
  • Remote access, … and a few other features


Release note Amahi 4.2

Included in this release (platform version 4.2) are massive improvements in performance for writes (300% to nearly 700%) and modest performance in reads (15% to 20%) to the production Samba settings.

Also included are minor tweaks to some messages that were not accurate.
