The first picture of an alleged Google phone appeared on the internet. Of course these phones will run Android, Google's own Linux based Operating System for Smartphones.

The phone will be called Nexus One and is made by smartphone maker HTC, as cited sources reported to Reuters. Google has plans to sell its own cellphone direct to consumers as soon as next year.

A quick search for "nexus one" on Google's Picasa photo service reveals several pictures taken with a camera pegged as the HTC Nexus One in the EXIF data. Many of the pictures appear to be taken from within Google's offices and at Google sponsored events.
