LiMux

The localized Linux distro of the German city Munich LiMux has reached another milestone.

LiMux

Its now installed on 9000 workstations at local governments. Almost all copies of Microsoft Office have been uninstalled & replaced with version OpenOffice.org  3.2.1 (open source office suite) which is also included in this localized Linux distro.

More then 3,000+ systems will be switched to the LiMux distro next year. The originally plan of migrating 8500 workstations is now changed with a new target of 12.000-15.000 workstation migrations as used by city officials in Munich.
